The Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE (OSCE PA) is an institution of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe. It consists of 323 parliamentarians from the 57 OSCE nations, covering a wide geographic area stretching from Vancouver to Vladivostok. The OSCE PA was established by the 1990 Paris Summit to promote inter-parliamentary dialogue and to pursue the implementation of OSCE objectives, including the promotion of regional co-operation in order to prevent and resolve conflicts, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation.

The Assembly’s decisions are advisory but its role is especially important in dealing with various current challenges concerning the security and stability at regional level. It has developed specific educational programmes regarding the strengthening of democracy and the election observation missions. The Assembly meets twice annually (February and July) assisted by a Secretariat, based in Copenhagen. Significant work is carried out by the three General Committees: a) Committee on Political Affairs and Security, b) Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment, c) Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions.

Greece has been participating in the OSCE PA since its establishment. The Greek parliamentary delegation consists of six (6) full members and four (4) alternate members.
